I looove putting on makeup, like I’m not the kind of gal that will just put on a bit of mascara and go. Not that I wouldn’t leave the house without makeup, that’d be fine, but I wouldn’t go to work or anywhere like that without my face on. Even though I like putting my face on, there’s always morning where I’d rather just sleep, probably too many mornings. So I’ve gotten my morning makeup routine down to about 15 minutes, probably 20 with a coffee. I don’t think I’d ever be able to make it any less than that. But 15/20 minutes is graaaand. So these are the few bits that I’m loving right now and that I’m using er’day.
I always use a day moisturiser with a SPF in it. At the minute I’m using a moisturiser from Bryt Skincare and I think it has an SPF of 15. I’m loving it so far. The only thing I’m not a massive fan of is the smell, but anyone else I’ve got to try it loves the smell, so that’s obviously just me! I’m going to pop up a full post about the Bryt Skincare day moisturiser at the end of the month. 🙂
I love a good primer, but for every day use I don’t go for the more expensive primers. I’m always wearing moisturiser under my primer anyway, so as long as the primer does what it says it will I’ll love it. These two Catrice primers are the ones I’ve been using for a while now and I think they’re great on their own or under makeup. They’re so good for how cheap they are. The pink one, which is the Beautifying primer, leaves a really nice glow on the skin. The white one, which is for refining pores, is fab for mattifying the skin a bit. It’s not absolutely amazing for minimising pores, but it makes a difference. Out of the two I’d 100% recommend the beautifying primer. 🙂
I bought this foundation from TRND Beauty a couple of months ago and have used it almost every day since. I think it’s around the €12 mark, and it’s worth every penney. It goes on so smoothly and leaves a gorgeous finish. I think this would suit dryer skin perfectly, but I still love it. My skin can be a bit all over the place, it’s mostly oily but I still absolutely love the finish of this. It lasts all day and it’s definitely worth a try.
The two concealers that I’m loving lately are the LA Girl Pro Conceal (in the pic!) and the Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer. The LA Girl concealer is fab, but it goes on so much nicer with a beauty blender than a brush. The Catrice concealer is one of my favourites and it goes on lovely with either a beauty blender or a brush. When I’m in a hurry I always use my concealer as an eye base too and these two work perfectly for that.
I always set under my eyes with an Inglot powder. I can’t even remember the name of it at this stage, but it’s a pressed powder with a small bit of illuminator in it so it really brightens up under the eyes. Ideal when under my eyes are as dark as my eyeliner!
I LOVE the Cailyn Brow Gelux for my brows. I’ve been using it for about a year now and I’m still obsessed. I use shade 02 which is just ideal. My brows don’t smudge or budge and the lil pot looks like it’s barely been used – I’ve used it SO much.
Eyes, Contour & Highlight
I love the Inglot sculpting powders for contouring, I think I have shades 507 and maybe 511? I’m so bad at remembering the numbers! They blend amazingly and they make a perfect eyeshadow to slap on when you’re in a hurry. I love Inglot’s gel liner in number 76 for the waterline too. It’s white so it really brightens up eyes and makes them look that bit bigger. My eyes are kind of small so I definitely need this, especially first thing in the morning! For everyday highlight I use the Catrice High Glow. I had a love/hate relationship with this at first but it’s ideal for everyday use.
For mascara at the minute I’m changing between Benefit’s They’re Real and BPerfect Brush on Lashes. When I’m really in a hurry I’ll just throw on a bit of They’re Real or just the mascara by BPerfect. If I’ve a spare few minutes I’ll use the BPerfect fibres too. They leave lashes so fluffy looking and they’re just fab. I’ve a full review on the Brush on Lashes here. 🙂
I love setting spray, I’d nearly put half a bottle on – especially before a night out. I use to always use Urban Decay’s setting spray, which I absolutely LOVE. But I picked up this oil control spray by Makeup Revolution a few weeks ago and I’m really liking it. It’s perfect as a cheaper alternative. I’d still be a bit oily at the end of the day but not half as much if I didn’t use this.
So they’re the bits that literally make up my face right now. It might seem like a lot to some people but I couldn’t take anything out. There’s some of them that I buy again and again, I think I’ll always use them. Like the Catrice concealer and the Cailyn brow gelux, and a few more as well! They all fit perfectly in one little makeup bag as well which is ideal. Anyone else can’t live without any of these bits? 🙂
