Like most people, I don’t want to be spending a fortune on everyday foundation – but I obviously want a fab foundation too. Lately, I’ve been using the L.A Girl Pro Coverage Foundation (there’s a full review on that one here) but when I ran out of that I obviously needed one without having to wait for it to be delivered. I heard the fab Laura Dempsey talking about Note Cosmetics Detox & Protect foundation so I decided to give that a go!
I picked up the shade ‘sand’, because I’m constantly wearing tan and that shade seemed perfect, I think it was around €14/€15 so it’s not too pricey.
So the Detox & Protect foundation has an SPF of 15 in it, along with Vitamin E, Sweet Almond Oil and Yeast Extract. It’s also meant to function as a shield against environmental factors (v. fancy) and be suitable for all skin types. The bottle has an inside pump which is always handy so that not too much product comes out.
The first thing I noticed that the foundation smelled very… clean. It smelt very familiar but I just couldn’t figure out what it was, I still can’t so that’s kind of annoying ha! The smell wasn’t too overpowering just a bit noticeable.
I started out with one pump of the foundation and used the Buff & Blend BB03 foundation brush to buff it on. I thought it seemed a bit thick at first but it spreads really nicely so a little goes a long way. My skin is a bit all over the place at the minute – it’s oily in parts and a small bit dry but the foundation went on perfectly. It mattified the oily parts of my skin – I didn’t set my skin with powder at all and the foundation was perfect. It says that the foundation is suitable for all skin types, but if you’re skin is super dry I’m not too sure how it would work out because it’s a bit thick, it might just have to be really worked into the skin.
I’ve been using it for over a week now and I don’t have anything bad to say about it at all, so far anyway! It lasted really nicely all day, without even setting it with powder. The coverage is fab, I’d say it’s medium coverage but it can be built up too without looking too cakey. The finish of this foundation is absolutely fab, I’m so impressed. *insert heart eye emoji*
This has gone straight into my everyday makeup bits, I’ll 100% be buying it again! If you haven’t spotted it or want to have a look online, you can check it out here. For a quick read of my everyday makeup bits you can click here. 🙂
