Favourite Four: River Island Handbags

Because it’s after the Halloween madness and Costa already have their Christmas menu released, I have zero problems talking about Christmas. ZERO. In the lead up to Christmas, handbags must be on an awful lot of people’s wish lists. While some people are dead set on having a fab, designer handbag – a highstreet handbag is always fab too.

I do love a gorgeous River Island bag, I think almost everyone does. As far as I can remember, since I started actually carrying a handbag daily, I got a River Island handbag as gifts and I was always delighted with them. So I thought I’d do this month’s ‘Favourite Four’ on River Island handbags – my last ‘Favourite Four’ posts were all about Winter boots, if you’d like to have a nosey!

I worked in River Island a couple of Christmas’s ago, and every few minutes there was a poor guy looking aimlessly at the wall of handbags, so this might even come in handy for you guys! Everything is linked, so if a particular bag catches your eye then work away!

Black leather round handle cross body bag

I absolutely LOVE this bag. I’ve never gone for a round bag before, it has always been the big blocky ones that catch my eye, but I just love everything about this. These kind of bags seem to be everywhere right now and it also looks like they’re not going anywhere. It’s actually a lot bigger on the inside than it seems, so you’d probably fit all you need in it too. It’d be ideal for both every day and nights out too. It comes in both black and a dark green. I always tend to lean more towards black, but dark green is gorgeous for Winter!

Red quilted slouch chain bag

This is the complete opposite of what I would usually go for, but there’s just something about it that I love. The gold chain detail is just fab and it would fit everything and the kitchen sink. I think the red would just be so nice for a change, but if you’re not feeling the red then it comes in black too. 🙂

Black long handle faux fur pouch tote bag

I really don’t think you can go wrong with a black tote bag, and the tan straps just top it off. How cute are the two other little bags too? The small black one can be fitted into the bag perfectly and the smaller, fluffy one can be attached to the outside of the handbag itself. Not sure how practical that would be, but at least it’d be a nice photo for Instagram!

Beige leather colour block tote bag

Considering this is just a River Island bag, I think it’s a bit pricey – at €147! Like, I know River Island can be pricey at times but I don’t think this bag is special enough to be that price. Saying that, I think it would be perfect for an every day handbag and it would go with just about everything. I think I’ll be on the hunt for a cheaper version of this, because I couldn’t justify paying €147 for a bag from River Island, even if I would use it to bits!

I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with a River Island bag. I always end up putting my handbags through a lot of hardship and any of my River Island ones have stood the test of time. They’re the old reliable when it comes to handbags really!
