10 Beauty Products Getting Me Through Quarantine

During the current quarantine, so far I’ve done a full face of makeup just once. I love putting on makeup, there’s nothing better than putting Spotify on, pouting a large Pinot and laying my whole face out. But right now, it feels like a massive anti-climax. So I’ve been neglecting my makeup corner a bit. But there are still plenty of gorgeous beauty products getting me through quarantine. I can’t get enough of them. These are ones I’ve been reaching for almost every day, and they’ve gone straight back onto my ‘to-buy’ list.

Skingredients Skin Shield

I’ve been using this since before Christmas, and I’m genuinely obsessed with it. I only have the travel size, and it’s still going even though I use it almost every day. It feels amazing going on, like a real treat each morning.
Basically, it’s a lightweight moisturiser with SPF 50 (the good stuff). It’s to protect against UVA and UVB rays, pollution and the blue light from our screens. Plus it’s packed with vitamins, again, more good stuff. One of my favourite things about it is that even though it has a high SPF, it’s slightly peach toned so there’s no flashback or white chalkiness left on your skin, so it’s ideal under makeup. It leaves your skin looking dewy and GORGE. My new fave everyday moisturiser, divine.

Benefit Gimme Brow

I’ve been using Gimme Brow for years. It’s one of my all-time favourite beauty products. I use it on its own, or along with a brow pencil. Although I had run out of Gimme Brow recently, so I started using the Catrice Brow Colourist. It’s not exactly the same, because I feel like Gimme Brow almost backcombs your brows, like adding a bit of life to them. The Catrice one doesn’t, but it’s super quick and adds a nice bit of colour to your brows so at least there’s something going on. The only thing is a lot of product comes out on the mini brush, so you really have to get the extra product off before you put it on your brows. Still, it’s ideal for times like this!

Bellamianta Triple Action Glycolic Body Scrub

I’m a big fan of Bellamianta, I have been ever since I first bought a bottle of their gorge tan. So I was awful excited about this. I heard great things about it from friends, influencers, magazines, from pretty much everywhere. So the disappointment hit hard when I just couldn’t bring myself to love it.
I’ve tried this over and over again, but it’s just not doing what I thought it would. It only really works if your tan is basically gone already, and the little beads get EVERYWHERE. To be fair, your skin does feel amazing after. So it’s nice if you just want a little exfoliation, but not if you’re looking to take off a full layer of tan. I’m still really enjoying it right now, but it won’t be the first thing I’ll be buying again once this is all over.

L’Oreal Plump & Set Brow Artist

I love a clear brow gel, LOVE them. I’ve been a big fan of big fluffy brows for ages now, and I’ve lived by Benefit’s Ready Set Brow for giving my brows a fluffier look, and keeping ‘em in place. But this is basically a bargain version, and I’m loving it. I haven’t had my brows done in ages so I feel a bit crazy without them. So I’m literally only putting a bit of brow product on to feel more normal. Cheaper products like this are ideal, because I’m not running out of my everyday bits. But I think this might be taking the place of my usual Ready Set Brow, it’s a lovely little dupe.

Dermalogica Phyto-Nature Firming Serum

I’ve been a big fan of Dermalogica products for a few years now. This has to be up there with my favourite products of theirs. It feels amazing going on, brightens the skin and slowly made my skin feel more hydrated and just looked better all round. It’s supposed to reduce fine lines and firm skin, which I haven’t noticed because my skin hasn’t reached that stage yet. Saying that, my skin did go through quite a bad stage recently and I really did think it helped. Although it’s pretty pricey, so I’m not sure it’s something I’d have in my skincare routine constantly.
At first I was thinking it didn’t last as long as I would have liked, because it’s not exactly cheap. But I’ve been using it twice a day, every day for the past 2/3 months and there’s definitely been a difference in my skin. So I won’t dare complain!

St Tropez Purity Vitamins Serum

One thing that I need to say straight away, this stuff smells DIVINE. It’s like summer in a bottle, but even nicer. This little face tanner isn’t like others I’ve used before. It feels like a silky gel texture, and blends so nicely into the skin. It’s packed with 93% of skincare ingredients, so there’s no nasty blocked pores, but still a nice light tan that you can build up as much as you like. Perfect for everyday wear, it’s gorge.
Also a special mention to their Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist, I’ve been using this for about a year or so and I’m still obsessed with it.

Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this stuff is AMAZING. I’ve been using it for years, and no matter what I always go back to it. It does exactly what it says on the tin, making it ten times easier to scrub your unwanted tan off. Of course, it’s not going to work magic and remove fresh tan. But, once it’s time for your tan to come off you won’t regret reaching for this.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Gel Lotion Moisturiser

I’ve been using this along with the paired cleanser for a couple of months and it feels AMAZING. Half a pump goes a long way, it feels like rubbing actual silk into your skin. What’s ideal about it is that your skin feels hydrated for so long afterwards, and it’s oil free so if you have oily skin that still needs a hydration boost you’ll love it. The only downfall is that it has no SPF, but it’s perfect for night time.

Charlotte Tilbury Brightening Youth Glow

I included this in a previous post, 7 Of My All-Time Favourite Primers, but I think it’s worth a mention here again. I don’t know about you, but staying indoors has my skin a bit dull and just meh. I’m calling it that not wearing makeup is good for your skin, is all just a myth. So I’ve been using this some morning to add a little something-something to my skin. It gives it a bit of life, without feeling heavy or tight. Ideal.

Garnier Summer Body Hydrating Gradual Tan Moisturiser

I’ve never been one to build up a moisturise tan. But I don’t use a lot of body moisturisers in case they’re too oily to wear over fake tan. So this is the best of both worlds. It moisturises you’re skin, keeping it silky smooth so your tan doesn’t go patchy. Plus, it keep your fake tan topped up and looking gorge. The bottle is huge, cheap as chips for what you get, a must-have, really.
